With one show left scheduled in
2010 so far, I've found myself thinking about the past few years in PGW.
I've started re-evaluating everything we've done since 2007. Honestly,
never would I have predicted years later we'd still be around. PGW has
somehow kept itself going even at times I predicted our own failure.
Over the years we've have many different people with many different
backgrounds unselfishly help and dedicate time to helping PGW. Whether
it's by filming video, brainstorming ideas, or promoting many wrestlers
and non-wrestlers have given a lot of themselves to further PGW. Today
while reminiscing I started think about my favorite moments and videos
over years. For some reason ONE video sticks out as my favorite...
Admittedly the Fight Before Christmas '08 wasn't PGWs
crowning achievement. But for some reason "Purty" Kurt Adonis putting
his title and PGW career on the line against Brian Anthony stands out to
me as one of my favorite moments. On paper it looked like two evil
champions colliding for no good reason. But, with Brian Anthony's
massive ego and Kurt Adonis' likable persona the shows and videos
leading into the match painted a different picture. Sure enough Kurt
Adonis and "Fitness Guru" Richard Seamans were greeted by cheers. Fans
cheering Richard Seamans? Trust me, it happened. I rarely get a chance
to watch an entire match live, but I went out of my way to enjoy this
one. The video I made recapping the match stands out of one of my all
time favorites. It's not the most action packed video I've produced. But
for some reason it stands out to me.
Maybe you've never watched it. Maybe you have watch it but
forgot. Either way if you have a few minute sit back and remember the
night that weasel Brian Anthony actually ended the PGW career of Kurt
Adonis...BYE BYE KURT.
So thanks to; Kurt Adonis, Brian Anthony, Richard Semeans,
Mario Mancini, Eddie Latham, Anthony Battle, Big Steve "The Bail
Bondsman", "The Kurt Adonis Fans" and Vince "The Prince" for making this
video possible. Also thanks to Lou on camera, Kaz for his backdrop, and
"The Grandmaster of Ceremonies" Joe LaChance for announcing the winner
in such dramatic fashion. As with several show over the years walked out
of this show thinking it was our last...whether by blessing or curse it
wasn't.
